ABOUT COLLEGE

Located in the shadows of Dhauladar Hills, blessed by Baba Baijnath (Lord Shiva) and situated at the bank of Binva khud, Paprola village is proud of its Rajiv Gandhi Govt. Post Graduate Ayurvedic College.The college came into existence in the year 1972 by the name of Him Ayurvedic College as a private institution under the supervision of Vaid Hakim Parishad of Himachal Pradesh by the efforts of Vaid Jagan Nath Sharma. At that time it was affiliated with Punjab faculty Chandigarh. 

Latest Activities

  •  As regular classes of all P.G. and U.G. students have begun and hospital is also working at its full capacity, everyone is advised to observe Covid appropriate behavior.

 

  •  Ministry of AYUSH has started "AYUSH COVID-19 Counselling Helpline No. : 14443. Those who seek help can call on this number. 
  • It is informed that Rajiv Gandhi Govt. P.G. Ayurvedic College & Hospital Paprola has been registered on National Scholarship Portal. Desirous candidates can apply online and submit the hard copy along with supportive documents in the office of the Principal for verification by nodal officer.

Agad Tantra

 

 

 

Introduction:-

Agad Tantra is one of the 14 departments of this college. This department came into existence with the expansion of 7 departments to 14 on 03/01/1996, by bifurcating Swasthavritta department into Swasthavritta & Agad Tantra.

Infrastructure:-

                Department has overall space of approx 1880 sq. ft. Out of which one H.O.D. room with attached toilet having area of 210 sq. ft., one Teachers room of 204 sq. ft., one Museum (one hall & 2 rooms) of 881 sq. ft. & one Tutorial room of 586 sq. ft. area. 

Staff:-

There were three posts in the department, one Reader, one Senior Lecturer & one Lecturer. But in the year 2012 the post of Sr. Lecturer has been shifted and now there are only two posts i. e. Reader & Lecturer.

                Presently two teachers one Reader cum HOD & other Lecturer are working in the department.

Reader & HOD  -  Dr. Jaram Singh, M.D.(Ay) 

Sr. Lecturer  -  Dr. M.L. Prajapati, M.D. (Ay)

One Laboratory attendant has been allotted on shared basis with the department of Swasthavritta and one Peon common for two floor of the building. 

Museum:-

Department have well maintained museum with 64 equipments & instruments, 26 models, 47 charts, 19 specimens.

Departmental Library:-

Department have 21 books in departmental library.

Schedule of duty:-

  •  Department is teaching almost two batches of B.A.M.S. IInd Prof. students as per time table.
  •  Usually there are six theory & six practical classes per week per batch.
  • Once in a Profession, ten working days Forensic Medicine tour is organised to train BAMS students in the field of post-mortem, at IGMC Shimla.
  • Department is also running OPD on Friday & Saturday.
